Jeremiah the prophet asks the question, "What wilt thou say when He shall punish thee?" and you must give the answer. Will you say, "I was not warned?" No, you will not be able to say that: NOT WARNED! Did not the scriptures warn you? Did you not read that "God will bring every work into judgement"? NOT WARNED! Did you never hear a preacher's voice when he cried "Flee from he wrath to come". NOT WARNED! Did your parents never warn you with tears and prayers? NOT WARNED! Were you not warned by the flood upon the ungodly world? NOT WARNED! Were you not warned by all that befell the Jewish people for their sins after all the privileges by which God had distinguished them? NOT WARNED! Did not death warn you? The death of your neighbour the death of your brother the sudden death that took away your acquaintance in a moment? NOT WARNED! Did sickness not warn you when you were laid aside from your usual life to face the issues of death and eternity? "What wilt thou say when He shall punish thee?" Not warned? You will never be able to give that for an answer to God. William Jay
